Easy & Quick Crochet Bell Bag

Materials Needed:

• Yarn of your choice
• Crochet hook suitable for your yarn
• Stitch marker
• Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• dc: double crochet
• sc: single crochet
• inc: increase (2 dc in the same stitch)
• dec: decrease
• sl st: slip stitch

Pattern Instructions:

Base of the Bag:

1. Round 1:
   • Start with a magic ring.
   • Ch 2 (counts as first dc).
   • Make 16 dc into the ring.
   • Place a stitch marker in the first stitch.
   • Tighten the loop and join with a sl st to the first dc (16 dc).

1. Round 2:
   • Ch 2.
   • 16 increases: 2 dc in each stitch around.
   • Join with a sl st to the first dc (32 dc).
2. Round 3:
   • Work in the front loop only.
   • Ch 2.
   • (Inc, dc in next st); repeat 16 times.
   • Join with a sl st (48 dc).
3. Round 4:
   • Work in the front loop only.
   • Ch 2.
   • (Inc, dc in next 5 sts); repeat 8 times (56 dc).
4. Rounds 5-7:
   • Work in the front loop only.
   • Ch 2.
   • Dc in each st around (56 dc).
   • Join with a sl st.
5. Round 8:
   • (Dec, dc in next 5 sts); repeat 8 times.
6. Round 9:
   • (Dec, dc in next 6 sts); repeat 6 times.
7. Round 10:
   • (Dec, dc in next 5 sts); repeat 6 times.

Upper Part of the Bag:

9. Round 11:
   • Work through both loops.
   • Ch 1, sc in same st.
   • 4 sc, ch 2, skip 2 sts; repeat 6 times around.
   • Join with a sl st.
10. Round 12:
    • 36 dc in the front loop only.
    • Join with a sl st.
11. Round 13:
    • (Inc, dc in next 2 sts); repeat 12 times.
12. Round 14:
    • 48 sc in both loops.
    • Finish off and weave in ends.

Star Accent:

1. Round 1:
   • Start with a magic ring.
   • Ch 2, 15 dc into the ring.
   • Tighten the loop and join with a sl st.
2. Round 2:
   • Ch 5.
   • *Sl st into the 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next, dc in next, tr in last ch.
   • Skip 2 from the first round, sl st in next st*; repeat to make 5 points.
   • Finish off.

• Sew or glue the star onto the bell bag.

Drawstring:

• Make a slip knot, crochet a chain to your desired length.
• Use a tapestry needle to weave the chain through Round 11’s ch-2 spaces.
