How To Crochet Amigurumi Rainbow Dragonfly

Materials:

Body:

  2. Round 2: Increase in each stitch around. (12 sc)
  3. Round 3: (Increase, sc in next stitch) around. (18 sc)
  4. Round 4: (Increase, sc in next 2 stitches) around. (24 sc)
  5. Round 5: (Increase, sc in next 3 stitches) around. (30 sc)
  6. Rounds 6-10: Sc in each stitch around. (30 sc)
  7. Round 11: (Invisible decrease, sc in next 3 stitches) around. (24 sc)
  8. Round 12: (Invisible decrease, sc in next 2 stitches) around. (18 sc)
  9. Insert safety eyes between rows 8 and 9, spacing them 6 stitches apart.
  10. Round 13: (Invisible decrease, sc in next stitch) around, change color to orange in the last stitch. (12 sc)
  11. Round 14: Increase in each stitch around, working in the front loops only. (24 sc)
  12. Rounds 15-18: Sc in each stitch around. (24 sc)
  13. Round 19: (Invisible decrease, sc in next 2 stitches) around. (18 sc)
  14. Add stuffing as you go.
  15. Round 20: (Invisible decrease, sc in next stitch) around. (12 sc)
  16. Round 21: (Invisible decrease) around, change color to yellow in the last stitch. (6 sc)
  17. Rounds 22-29: Sc in each stitch around. (6 sc)
  18. Slip stitch into the next stitch, fasten off, and weave in the ends.

Wings (Make 4):

  1. Round 1: Using green yarn and a 3.25 mm crochet hook, make a magic ring and sc 4 times into the ring. (4 sc)
  2. Round 2: (Increase, sc in next stitch) around. (6 sc)
  3. Round 3: (Increase, sc in next 2 stitches) around. (8 sc)
  4. Round 4: Sc in each stitch around. (8 sc)
  5. Round 5: (Increase in first stitch, sc in next stitch) around, change color to blue halfway through the round. (12 sc)
  6. Rounds 6-8: Sc in each stitch around. (12 sc)
  7. Round 9: (Invisible decrease, sc in next stitch) around, change color to purple in the last stitch. (8 sc)
  8. Rounds 10-11: Sc in each stitch around. (8 sc)
  9. Round 12: (Invisible decrease, sc in next 2 stitches) around. (6 sc)
  10. Round 13: Sc in each stitch around. (6 sc)
  11. Slip stitch into the next stitch, fasten off, and leave a long tail for sewing.

Legs (Make 6):

  1. Using black yarn and a 2.25 mm crochet hook, chain 6.
  2. Slip stitch in the second chain from the hook and each chain across. (5 slip stitches)
  3. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Antennae (Make 2):

  1. Using black yarn and a 2.25 mm crochet hook, chain 9.
  2. Sc 3 times in the second chain from the hook.
  3. Slip stitch in each remaining chain. (7 slip stitches)
  4. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

  1. Attach the wings: Lay the body on its side, and using the long tails, sew the wings in pairs, with the front pair slightly behind the head and the second pair behind the first. Sew securely and weave in the ends.
  2. Attach the legs: Position the legs evenly on both sides of the body, sewing into the bottom of the body. Secure tightly and weave in the ends.
