    • Chain 3 and make a dc in the same stitch as the slip stitch.
    • Make 2 dc in each of the next 5 stitches.
    • Make 1 dc in the next stitch.

    • Fasten off yarn.

Assembling the Heart Pouch:

  1. Create the Loop for Closure:
    • Attach yarn in the center (in the "valley" created by the dc5tog).
    • Chain 7 and slip stitch back into the same spot.
    • Fasten off yarn.
  2. Make the Strap:
    • Attach yarn to the center of the other heart piece (in the same spot as the closure loop).
    • Chain about 50.
    • Slip stitch back into the same stitch and fasten off yarn.

Making a Bow (Optional):

  1. Chain a Long Strand:
    • Make a slip knot and chain 45 to 55 chains.
    • Cut the working yarn and secure the ends with extra knots to prevent fraying.
  2. Form the Bow:
    • Shape the chains into a bow on one heart piece.
    • Using a yarn needle, sew through the center of the bow, then wrap the yarn around several times to secure it.
    • Tie knots at the back and cut off excess yarn.

Finishing the Heart Pouch:

  1. Sew the Pieces Together:
    • Put the wrong sides of the two heart pieces together.
    • Line up the stitches and count 5 stitches away from each side of the strap.
    • Place stitch markers to leave a 10-stitch opening at the top.
    • Measure about 36 inches of yarn (or run yarn across the heart seven times to estimate).
  2. Whip Stitch the Edges:
    • Begin at one side and use a whip stitch to sew around the edges, leaving the top 10 stitches open.
    • Knot securely at the end and weave in any remaining yarn ends.

And that's it! You have completed your crochet heart pouch. This pouch is perfect for small gifts or as a cute accessory. Enjoy your project!
